Obituary for Edward Joseph Jerome

Jerome, Edward Joseph,71 of Edgartown, MA. and formerly of Absecon, NJ passed away on Tuesday, September 18, 2018. Ed attended elementary school in Absecon and graduated from Pleasantville High School, Class of 65. As a greyhound, Ed served as class president for four years and excelled on the football field and baseball diamond. Ed also held dear his valuable time spent as a life guard for the Atlantic City Beach Patrol. During his time in Edgartown, Ed was a benevolent school principal for nearly three decades. Ed also took on many other community roles, but all were eclipsed by his passion for the Martha’s Vineyard Stripe Bass and Blue Fish Derby. He had been president of the derby for many years. Ed is survived by his wife Maryanne L (Langley) Jerome, son Nick Jerome and Sister JoAnn Elco (Pete). Ed is predeceased by his son Joseph Jerome, and father and mother, Joseph and Anna Jerome. Mass of Christian Burial was held on Saturday, September 22 at St. Elizabeth’s Church in Edgartown.
